The race for their party's nomination for president in our two party system is characterized by personal attacks. Both of the presumptive nominees, and their party faithful, have been more about personal attacks and politics than about providing their plan for leading our country. It's shameful!

Wake up, America! Take the pledge.

By withholding our support for the Republican and Democratic parties, maybe by the 2020 presidential election there will be less politics of personal destruction and more constructive ideas and viable choices for president of the United States--who shares our core values.

Prosecutor calls suspected bus hijacker violent and erratic - The Washington Post

"In the gas station’s parking lot, police said, he jumped two curbs and weaved the bus between gas pumps before approaching Payne,who was throwing trash into a bin. The court affidavit says Loving, “in an apparent effort to leave the parking lot, propelled the bus forward and turned the bus directly towards the decedent.” Payne’s legs were pinned under the bus; a bystander pulled him free, though Payne died shortly after arriving at a hospital.

Payne’s relatives could not be reached Wednesday. He lived on the second floor of a three-story apartment building on W Street in LeDroit Park. His downstairs neighbor, Mary Anthony, 52, said he moved there in 1999 and lived alone.

Anthony said Payne picked up odd jobs here and there. “He was always helping people,” Anthony said, noting he had recently cleaned her oven. “He didn’t have much, but he helped you with what he had.”

Two workers at the Crown Station said Payne occasionally stopped in to barter. On Tuesday, they gave him chips and a soda for taking out the trash, the task he was performing when he was hit by the bus." 

What a legacy! “He was always helping people,” Anthony said, noting he had recently cleaned her oven. “He didn’t have much, but he helped you with what he had.” 

I believe that Anthony Payne is in a much better place now.

While politicians are out celebrating Earth Day, and patting themselves on the back for the GREAT job that they're doing, recycling rates across the country are going DOWN.

We could be doing MUCH more if it weren't for gutless politicians and apathetic citizens.

The Commonwealth of Virginia requires each city, county, town or region to maintain a minimum recycling rate--15% in rural areas and 25% in urban areas. BIG whup!

Prince William County achieved a recycle rate of 38.7% in 2014. The Prince William County Public Works, Solid Waste Division Recycling Office received confirmation from Virginia Department of Environment Quality (DEQ) of the County’s Recycling Rate in May.
