A-team

During my working years managing engineering professionals I was blessed to have “A-teams”. When managers screw up (and I did plenty), the “A team” always did whatever was needed to get us through the crisis, many which I created with my own errors, omissions and shortcomings. When I panicked, “A-team” people were there to calm me down and reassure me that “we got this”. They always “had my back”.

“A-team” people are bright and capable people with positive, “can do” attitudes. When innovation is required, they’re innovative. When hard, and sometimes monotonous, work was required, I could always count on them to get the job done, no matter what it took.

“A-team” people are a manager’s gold. I am very grateful for my “A-teams”:
HDR (pre-management): Una Zeck
BTML/WSA: Susan Shaw, Steve Bates, Ronnie Lauziere, Bob Vollmer, Partha Sarathi, Pete D’Orazio
Sverdrup: John Lynch, Steve Bates, Theresa DeFore, Earl Wilkins, James Murray
Volkert: Doug Garrison, Ron Lauziere

If I forgot anyone, I am profusely sorry. My memory has never been all that good; it’s especially poor these days. I love you guys!
