THE FOLKS IN WASHINGTON HAVE PULLED OFF A BIGGER PONZI SCHEME THAN BERNIE MADOFF EVER DID.

how are peoples' unpaid retirement contributions spent? can you spell "medicaid", boys and girls? love it or hate it, medicaid is a BIG cost to social security where those receiving the benefits don't pay into the system. either way, love or hate, you can thank elected federal government representatives for it. PS, in the interest of fairness, medicaid isn't the only drain on our social security "retirement" funds.
had enough?

where are the north korean people?

in 1776 the population of the american colonies was about 2.5 million. about half were patriots. even less were those who took up arms against great britain. they were successful.

iran has a population of 80 million. brave protesters are speaking out against iran's evil, corrupt, dangerous, tyrannical theocracy.

north korea has a population of 25 million. where are they? isn't it about time that they overthrew the evil tyrannical government of kim jong un? in fact, it's long overdue.

should moral character be considered in choosing our leaders?

how important to american voters is the moral character of its leaders?
answer: not very much

the current indignation with sexual improprieties, that began with harvey weinstein and has spread from hollywood to government and elsewhere, seems to be an exception. is it a passing fad? probably. once the fad has run its course, then it will likely be back to business as usual with the "blind eye" that  most of us turn towards sexual and other improprieties by the rich and famous.

for those who believe that moral character in our leaders is important, it's time for change. how, you might ask? simple. it's time to drain the swamp.

"catastrophic failures of leadership of Catholic Church authorities over many decades"

"In a far-reaching report on child sex abuse in Australia, a government commission is recommending that the country's Catholic Church lift its celibacy requirement for diocesan clergy and be required to report evidence of abuse revealed in confession.

Those are among the 400 recommendations contained in the 17-volume final report of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sex Abuse, which is wrapping up a five-year investigation – the longest in Australia's history.

'We have concluded that there were catastrophic failures of leadership of Catholic Church authorities over many decades,' the report said."

bingo! hit the nail right on the head!

from the beginning the correct, simple response of the catholic church has been painfully obvious:
   1. say "mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa" and mean it
   2. do everything possible for the victims
   3. make changes such that it never happens again
   4. if it happens again, then repeat steps 1 through 4

but, 3 generations of popes have catastrophically failed to respond correctly--not just in australia, but everywhere. why? because, like pharisees, the last 3 popes (all 3 co-conspirators, who protected those who covered up priests who sexually abused children--including 1 who has been declared a saint) have been deaf, dumb and blind to Jesus. How to Find Gold in God’s Word: Reading the Bible with Supernatural Help | Desiring God

pity.

"... perversion...sacrilege..."

Australian Archbishop Found Guilty In Cover-Up Of Child Sex Abuse : The Two-Way : NPR

"Amid worldwide allegations of long-standing abuse in the church, Australia last year published a landmark study of the problem in that country.

The far-reaching report, which took five years to complete, interviewed more than 8,000 people who shared their experiences of abuse and 2,500 cases were referred to police as a result."

axis of evil: some things never change

"The term axis of evil was first used by U.S. President George W. Bush in his State of the Union address on January 29, 2002, and often repeated throughout his presidency, to describe governments that his administration accused of sponsoring terrorism and seeking weapons of mass destruction. Iran, Iraq, and North Korea were portrayed by Bush during the State of the Union as building nuclear weapons."  Axis of evil - Wikipedia

that the UN condemns the repressive totalitarian regimes of north korea and iran is not enough. these murderous, repressive, totalitarian regimes should be destroyed.

Dramatic video shows mad dash as North Korean defector shot 5 times, pulled to freedom - ABC News

as the world has clearly seen, the kim regime in totalitarian north korea outlaws all opposition and demands complete subservience of the population. suppression and deprivation of human beings, and torture and murder of those who resist, are evil. that the free world condemns the evil kim regime is not enough. in the name of the inalienable freedom of all human beings, kim and his totalitarianism regime must be destroyed.

our elected representatives aren't getting the job done

take 100 average americans--reasonable people.
tell them that the subject is mass shootings.
1- ask them if the sale of assault weapons should be banned.
2- for those who say "no", ask them if the sale of assault weapons should be more strictly regulated.
of the 100 reasonable americans, how many would say "yes" to questions 1 or 2?

clearly our elected representatives aren't getting the job done.
perhaps the problem is our 2-party system of government.

are you sick of this?

in a Virginia nutshell: why the US needs to dump its two-party system of government

"If the $29 million in television ads told the whole story, the race for Virginia Governor has come down to a career lobbyist who wants to build new monuments to the Confederacy running against a spineless doofus who hugs child pornographers and immigrants in the country illegally.

To say the lone competitive contest this Election Day has raced to the bottom would be an insult to, well, the bottom. The mudslinging deserves every ounce of condemnation heaped on the spurious and specious attacks. Media buyers in both parties put the sum spent on the air last week alone north of $7 million, and strategists lament how two serious candidates made themselves into cartoons."

how YOU can help end our two party system of government

"Everywhere else in America today, disrupters — Uber, Amazon, etc. — are dismantling established institutions. Perhaps both political parties are the next institutions to crumble under creative destruction. Or maybe not. But if it happens, no one can say they didn't have it coming."

LONG lines at lawyers' offices

get ready! there are going to be LONG lines at lawyers' offices.

http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/10/26/560148936/george-h-w-bush-acknowledges-groping-multiple-women

"Sexual assault is any type of sexual contact or behavior that occurs without the explicit consent of the recipient. Falling under the definition of sexual assault are sexual activities
(such) as forced sexual intercourse, forcible sodomy, child molestation, incest, fondling, and attempted rape."

I can see it now... A man and his wife (or girlfriend if he's not married) argue. He thinks about it and decides that he's at fault. He approaches his wife (or girlfriend if he's not married) and gives her a little squeeze on her derriere. She accuses him of sexual assault ("... any type of sexual contact or behavior that occurs without the explicit * consent of the recipient...").

* you'd better get it in writing, fellas--witnessed and notarized!

it's a GOOD time to be a lawyer!
