could pelosi or mcconnell survive a national election? an argument for term limits

NO WAY!!!
  • kentucky's mcconnell got 806,787 votes in his last election (2014).
  • california's 12th congressional district representative pelosi got 275,292 votes in her last election (2018).
  • approximately 138,847,000 voters voted in the 2016 presidential election.
  • 806,787/138,847,000 = 0.00581
  • 275,292/138,847,000 = 0.00198

granted that in a national election, mcconnell and pelosi would get some votes outside their respective kentucky and san francisco, but enough to win a national election? NO WAY!!! yet, speaker of the house and senate majority leader are major players in our national government. two powerful old timers misrepresenting the vast majority of us.

NPR poll: Americans overwhelmingly say impeachment hearings won't change their minds

Impeachment Inquiry: Most Americans Say Hearings Won't Change Their Minds : NPR

nothing new or surprising here. democrat or republican, liberal or conservative, left or right, the country is so polarized now that "never the two shall meet". ... how can we fix this mess? if voters to stop voting for democrats and republicans, then even with their billion dollar PACs and lobbyists and their billion dollar donors, the democratic and republican parties will cease to exist if no one votes for their candidates. George Washington had it right about political parties. nothing will be better for our country than to end our "two-party system" of government.

the good, the bad & the ugly: we need new George Washington style representatives in government

had enough?

who do you trust?
   - george washington?
   - trump, nunes & friends?
   - pelosi, schiff & friends?
   - the republican and democratic parties that are financed by billionaire corporations and billionaire PACs that supply us with the candidates for public office?

   - biased news media?

to fix our dysfunctional government is simple and easy--stop voting for  republican and democratic party candidates, including incumbents.

voting for a
republican or a democrat is a vote for their party.

in the next election--national, state or local--don't vote republicans or democrats. vote for someone who isn't an ignorant partisan hack. even with their billion dollar donors, if voters don't vote for republicans and democrats, then the republican and democratic parties will shrivel up and die.

nothing will be better for our country.

the same goes for the news media--stop patronizing biased news media that lobby for the republican and democratic parties instead of reporting the news factually and truthfully. they'll go out of business. nothing will be better for the USA.

should athletes be compelled to participate in political activities? no more than ordinary citizens should be compelled to participate in political activities.

commies

the commies use the internet to interfere in our elections while squelching freedom in their own country. isn't that just like commies?
