the more things change, the more they stay the same

in 1849 french author jean-baptiste alphonse karr wrote: "the more things change, the more they stay the same".

in 1983 president reagan referred to the soviet union as "the evil empire".

in 1991 the soviet union collapsed. mainstay communist russia, with its long history of repressive government, beginning with the russian revolution, communism, and interventions in cuba, in former USSR countries, right up to the ukraine today, syria, in africa, and other countries around the world, is the obvious successor to the USSR as the evil empire.

in 2002 president george w. bush referred to iran, iraq and north korea as an "axis of evil"

it all seems pretty simple. countries with repressive regimes where their citizens lack basic individual rights, such as russia, north korea, iran, china, venezuela, syria, etc. are evil.

barack obama, a smart guy, didn't get it. neither did his secretaries of state. trump, another supposedly smart guy, doesn't get it. why???

it's time for change.

there is a better way.

who do you trust?
- someone who you know who has similar values to yours?
The good, the bad & the ugly: let's make America great again
- someone who is delusional, combative, etc. (see above)?
- or political parties that are financed by billionaire corporations and billionaire PACs?

Here's how government is controlled in the US:

If you vote for a republican or a democrat, then it's not the person that you voted for who is in control--it's the party.

In the next election--national, state or local--vote for anyone except a democrat or a republican.
Soon the republican and democratic parties will die.
Nothing will be better for our country.
