a civics lesson by the numbers:

1. the US is a republic, not a monarchy or a dictatorship.
2. in a republic supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives.
3. the US senate passed a bill by a vote of 98 to 2 to sanction russia and iran. 
4. the US HR will get the bill next; then it will go to the president.
5. the American people don't trust enemy countries that threaten us and interfere in our elections.
