the world is a mess.
our country is a mess.
and the nonstop media that screams bad news 24/7 is a mess.
what can be done?

I suppose that checking out is one solution; but, many of us have roots, and checking out for us isn't a viable solution.
Sooooo... Government and the media seem to be a common thread. There may not be much that we can do about the nonstop media (other than turning them off); but, there is something that we can do about our government.
Here's the solution:
In the next election--national, state or local--vote for anyone except a democrat or a republican.
Our nation will be better off if you do.
PS The same applies to the media. In refusing to patronize the nonstop media, eventually they will dry up and go away.
